The Importance of Riding Masks
Recently a doctor stopped by our shop to inquire about a particular spare part for his SUV. I have known him for a while as a regular customer and through our interactions I came to know that he is a reputable physician in town.
As a former long distance rider he also knows a lot about riding motorbikes. He makes a point of giving me occasional advice on riding because he considers me a “green-horn” in matters riding.
So on this particular day he told me something profound: most of the illnesses that affect riders come from pathogens that enter the body through the mouth and nose. He went ahead to tell me, and I think I can quote him verbatim, “You can ride naked, but if you have a good riding mask on, you’d never catch even a common cold.”
